Our group of spine specialists continues to expand, and now serves patients at UCSF Medical Center in San Francisco and at clinics in Marin, Napa, Oakland and Berkeley. The three new faculty members who joined in 2018 add to the Center's multidisciplinary expertise in neurosurgery, orthopaedic surgery and non-operative pain management.

Peter Wu, MD, PhD

Clinical Interests:
- Diagnostic and therapeutic interventions for the optimal management of patients with chronic back, neck, and joint pain
- Use of electromyogram and nerve conduction studies (EMG/NCS) to evaluate nerve or muscle injuries
- Multidisciplinary therapies to manage pain
- Ultrasound and X-ray guided injections to alleviate pain

- Regenerative medicines, such as platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy
- Clinical outcome studies for minimally invasive spine interventions
- Development of novel therapies for musculoskeletal and pain conditions
